Some biographical notes about Fr Scott Moncrieff

Fr Moncrieff is a priest within the Catholic tradition. He was a deacon at Christ Church Brunswick, Melbourne and then spent two years as a curate at St Augustine's Shepparton in the Diocese of Wangaratta. He has been Parish Priest at St Michael’s Wangaratta for the last five years. During that time he has also been the Chaplain and Confessor to the Benedictine Community of Christ the King in the Diocese. He was also appointed to the diocesan Foundation, the diocesan Anglicare and the diocesan newspaper, 'The Advocate.' At present he holds only the positions relating to the Community, who have been developing a system of oblates over the last few years to encompass people in the wider community. Fr Moncrieff says that when he comes to Goodwood he would be interested in developing his ministry to the oblates of the Community of Christ the King. At the moment there is a number of oblates around Adelaide who are interested in having a centre in South Australia.

Fr Moncrieff is forty years old, umarried and his educational background is a B.Sc. and LL.B. from Sydney University, a Bachelor of Divinity with honours from the Melbourne College of Divinity, and a Dip.Min. from Trinity College, Melbourne. Before being ordained he worked for a number of years in the computer industry in Sydney and London and then as an assistant to a director of an insurance company in Sydney. His interests include history and gardening.

Fr Moncrieff was commissioned as the rector of St George's Goodwood on the 8th May 2002 by the Archbishop of Adelaide, Ian George.
